the only true Athena

everytime i see somethin with sasha, like a fanart or a gif….i wanna reblog cause i love her…
…but then again, everytime i see something with sasha, like a fanart or a gif, there’s always people implying (see above) she was a better incarnation of the goddess of war than saori was…that is, she was a better warrior, a better leader, a better  goddess than saori
guys…
most people might find sasha more better because she’s more…kawaii and moe and sweeter, but as a goddess or as how much of an impact she made in the holy war
…no, she wasn’t.

Okay, I really hate doing this, but fuck it, I’m gonna.
Sasha was moe and loveable from day one. She was basically designed for the viewer/reader to fall in love with her at first sight. And I think most did, I know I did. That’s great, cos she’s really cool.
Saori, on the other hand, was really bratty, and harsh, and man those flashbacks were cringe-worthy, if anything. But, just as Seiya and the guys learned to love her, we did. She grew from a pampered, spoiled little rich girl into a strong, confident goddess. Her growth is equal to the one Ikki, or Shun, or each one of the bronzes went through, and that, for me, has a lot more sentiment. She wasn’t sugarcoated, she didn’t sugarcoat herself either. I’m not saying she’s better than Sasha, that’s stupid; they’re different Athenas and different characters, but Saori needs to be valued too, since her growth was just as bamfy as any other bamfy character in SS.

Reason why I don’t like Saori: She did not allow Shaka to Kill Hades when he had the opportunity. She did that in order to save Shun. He saved one saint… and ended up killing 12 Gold saints, got once again captured and led to her loved one becoming paraplegic. Her actions where never well planed, she was not cold, she let her human emotions get into her decisions a lot. That could have been a good thing, but in the end it turned out to be just really bad.Bonus: I also believe the problem with the first Saori is that she got a way more passive role than any of the other incarnations that we have seen. That is of course not her fault, just the way she was written.

>implying shaka would have succeeded in killing hades. more like shaka would have just unnecessarily died at that point, something she prevented… the bronzes+saori were the only ones capable of defeating Hades. i think it was made pretty clear, and after the sanctuary arc, we see the bronzes are a tier above the gold saints. shaka alone couldn’t have stopped him.>implying saori is responsible for the gold saints HAVING to sacirifice themselves to get past the wall (which they would have needed to go past with or without saori there with them— hades wasn’t going to remove his body from elysium and the game plan as i understood it was always to hit him directly). implying saori is responsible for seiya catching a grenade for her…dude, come on. characters actions=that characters responsibility.>”her actions were never well planned” how tho considering saori i don’t think ever made a misstep in planning post-sanctuary arc??? doing what she did in the poseidon arc was smart. doing what she did in the hades arc was smart. >”that could have been a good thing, but in the end it turned out to be just really bad." elaborate???? when, how. when she didn’t want to sacrifice people who didn’t have to die??>also ppl ragging on saori’s ‘passiveness’ like yeah okay all the women in SS get put on the backburner a little more than they deserve. However, people that expect Athena to be written like she’s Ares or something, in the forefront fighting, being the most active participant, don’t understand Athena’s character/purpose very well at all, sry…

Mrs. Brisby by Livia Chauar

After some time without drawing (again) I was part of an art collaboration  with a bunch of freaking amazing girls. We were to draw strong mothers from geek culture, and I picked Mrs. Brisby, who is a fantastic mother!
Since I, of course, started painting this just some days before the deadline, I ended up removing the other kids from the picture and sticking only to Cynthia. This ruined the composition, but at least I was able to finish it in time :P
